Monday 9th August

Managed to lose a lb this week, which is good. That makes a loss of 6.5 lbs so far with Slimming World, ok not brilliant when you think I joined last September! But still, at least I have not gained. I have booked a weeks holiday for next year (it was going to be 2 weeks but I changed my mind and just booked the one week as 2 weeks was just too much to save for).

So we've got some time to save for it and it was a very reasonable price, it sleeps 2/3 people which is great ( J and J won't be coming, they may plan their own holiday if they can), It is near places like Colchester, Burnam-on-Crouch, South-End-On Sea (I think not sure) and it's an hour on the train from London if we fancy popping there? But mostly it will be a chill out and enjoy the view holiday.

Ah well, back in work tomorrow, this is my last week in then I am off for two weeks, yipppeeeeee
Taking Buster for a walk the other day, a nice long walk.
This is just down the road from us a nice walk through some fields and there are plenty of other places to walk too.

Neil and I went for a quick 15 minute walk at 9pm, just round the houses, we took Buster though he was a bit of a pain pulling on the harness so much. I said to Neil in order to help us lose weight we muct make an effort to walk EVERY day, a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes. I am planning on getting up early in the morning and taking Buster up to the village and back (2 mile round trip). So far I have not managed to do this as I keep pressing snooze on the alarm clock! The alarm is set to go off at 6am and I keep pressing snooze every 20 minutes till about 7.20am when I get up then. Silly!!!! I just need to make a bit of an effort and get into the habbit of taking Buster for a walk every morning before work. Sometimes I will even make Neil get up too and come with me!! Neil NEVER lies in, he rarely EVER stays in bed past about 8.30am. When I am working he is always first up and lets Buster out into the garden and makes me a cup of tea. Which is really nice. I also want to aim to get into a habbit of doing a 20 minute walk at lunchtime in work, I can easily walk round the hospital grounds (a 20 minute walk). I get an hour for lunch so is plenty of time.

 Tuesday 10th August

Work was ok. Neil, R and Buster walked to meet me at 5pm, we all walked home, so the walk took about an hour in all, we went through the park to get home, it was nice, even though when I got the txt from Neil when I was in work saying they'd meet me and I thought OH NO my poor feet (since I had been on them all day in work) well------I totally enjoyed the walk home and even better tea was ready for me when I got home cos Neil had cooked it!

What have I eaten today?

Breakfast - Porridge and skim milk
Lunch - Cauliflower soup, 2 ryvitas and a nextarine
Tea - Chicken stew
Eve - A packet of poppets and a few teeney miny chocs, bout the size of your little fingernail, (so all in all about ermmmm.......15 syns for Slimming World probably)

Am re-reading this book!
J is also on a diet, he is calorie counting with the help of an app on his iPOD, so is counting all his exericse and calories which is good. We are going to be doing lots of walking, I am hoping that we can all go to Delamere Forest at the weekend, one of the days anyway. Also hoping to go with a friend from work to a pub called the Moby Dick for a roast dinner but this time (as last time) I am not going to pile so much food on my plate and of course we will go for a nice long walk after the meal so all the better.
So you see, I have plans, plans to be gooder and plans to be more active.

 Wednewsday 11th August

Can you believe I slept for AGES this afternoon and into the evening......sooooooo tired. Have not had a walk or anything. It is now 7.45pm and Mmmmmm.......shall I go for a walk now? Have not had tea yet. Was making a chicken dinner. Am not hungry though at the moment.

Took Buster for a short walk in the evening.

The dates are wrong on the camera pics, they all say 2007, so have had to reset the camera, anyway here's some oics taken last few days
The lake the other night
ME the other evening, it was nice and sunny, very relaxing. We meant to go round the lake this evening but I fell asleep so we did not go, we are going to go tomorrow night after work sometime, PLUS I am going to walk home from work as long as the weather is ok
Doesn't my hand look odd shape! I suppose as far as the arthritis goes, there are people with much worse joint deformaties than me so I should not complain (I only complain when my joints are hurting)! My ring finger is permanently bent, can't straighten it at all, makes a very good rude hand gesture from the right angle!
My hand splint that I wear when am in pain, it does help.

Got some pink lightweight shoes from Asda, very pretty and very comfy and only £5. Not to be worn in the rain of course. I wonder if you can bung them in the washing machine?

Well it's 11.45pm and Neil has just made me a nice cup of tea. He is downstairs working his way (each night) through the whole series from the very first one of Dr Who. I only like the later ones for eg when Tom Baker was in it onwards.
Might do some reading though am very short on good books to read. Have had a good look round the supermarket and nothing, not a thing of interest to me. I do tend to like the light/frothy chick lit books with some humour/romace in them. My fave books are these but have not been any new ones out lately?

Right - time for bed and sweet dreams - I wanna be on this beach, in this hammock! Actually hammocks don't look that comfy, but hey, I'd go in a hammock if it was somewhere like that!
Have put on some coconut body butter (to make my skin nice and soft and smell nice) I smell like I am on holiday! Coconut reminds me of summer holidays when I was in my 20's when I went to Portugal and Malta with my mum, dad and sisters.
The body butter is so nice and I got an orange one too

And a mandarin one I think it isThey both smell really nice. The only smell I don't like in these body butters is strawberry type ones. I love lemon and lime smells and orange, fresh ones.

 Thursday 12th August

How quick the summer is going. What summer!?
Work was fine as per usual. I actually walked home again, Neil and R and Buster met me half way, so that's an hours walk which is good. Ate quite healthily today all in all
Breakfast - Porridge and skimmed milk
Lunch - Spicey couscous
Tea - Chicken dinner
Eve - 2 rich tea biscuits cos my blood sugar was low.

In the evening Neil and I watched Fools Gold with Mathew McConnechy (or however you spell it) and Kate Hudson. J and I did go and see it in the cinema ages ago and I quite enjoyed it.
J went out for a meal tonight to Sheldrakes with J, they had a lovely evening.

Am getting weighed in the morning at work and am hoping to have got under the 10 st mark on works scales. Last week I was 10 st 1 lb (141 lbs) I weigh much less on the scales at work than at Slimming World. SO it would be nice to weigh in at 139 tomorrow!!!!! (ie 9 st 13 lbs). We shall see.

As a family we are not particularly managing to eat meals together at the moment which we should try to do. Well it's 12.45am and time I went to sleep as I have work again tomorrow (8 till 5). Neil and R are going to meet me half way again - all this walking is doing us good I hope. We did mean to go round the lake this evening, but I was too cold and NEil went up to his dads for most of the evening and then did some shopping for him.

 Friday 13th August 2010

Looooong day in work today but YIPEEEE am off for 2 weeks now. Too cold to go for a walk this evening, will make an effort tomorrow. And tomorrow am going to browse round charity shops in morning, see if I can pick anything unusal up and in the afternoon we are thinking of going to Croxteith Hall in Liverpool , me R, Neil and Neil's dad. We thought it would be nice to get him out for a few hours as he spends all day every day in the house on his own (cept for Neil going up there and occasionally his other son.

What have I eaten today? Hmmmmm.........

Friday is treat day right?????

Breakfast - Sausage bap
Lunch - Cottage cheese and apple and a banana
Tea - Crispy beef in sweet and sour sauce with 3 spring rolls and a few chips
Eve - 2 slim fast bars (Huh why?) and some chocolate (double why??).

YIKES - not the best of days in terms of nutrition.

Must do better tomorrow as have promised myself I WILL avoid anything with sugar in it for the time being. Errrr......kinda failed on that one today then. Better luck tomorrow.

Actually feel sick now cos of all the crap I've eaten, serves me right!
